The Dubai Adventure

Haiz ...

Going to leave for Dubai in 5 hours. Its a journey away from home that is going to take 6 days. In between a stopover at Istanbul. Getting used to life in Singapore... a reluctance to leave home

Dubai... Dubai, the upcoming and much vaunted Arab city, that dominates the headlines these days. The beautiful architectural wonders and the audacity the architects have built into those buildings, as well as places. Mind you, those buildings have to survive sandstorms, 50 degree Celsius heat as well as bureacratic red tapes. Applause for a city well built. Not too sure if it can be compared to Barcelona, maybe each reigning in its own region.

Istanbul, city of a thousand years, former capital of the Ottoman Empire, and of Byzantine Empire. In it stores the cultural relics that reflects the zenith of both empires. It also marks the struggles and the loss of lives associated with the establishment of this great city. From Constantine the great to Tayyip Erdogen of the present, this city overlooks the endless passing waters, Bosphorus, that marked its location and gives rise to the formation of this metropolis. May the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia welcome me into their presence, as I would welcome them into my visual horizons.

My next post should be either in Istanbul or back in Singapore. Then I will post pictures of what has entered my visual horizons...

Cheerios!
