After the first week of reservist training
Just got back from the first week of reservist.
Well, one thing from reservist training is we have to go through all of the training whether we like it or not. No one likes to do activities that we are forced to do, so everybody's life is miserable enough. It's just damn fucking selfish that people dally and stuff and delay everybody's time and energy. I mean come on just do it quick, and finish it, so that we can all rest. I dun wanna spend my time and energy chasing after this person and that person to gather and fall in, then discover to my horror that the earlier batch of people I asked to gather has dispersed to smoke, or to eat or just disappeared. Extremely frustrating.
Anyway, I have adopted some methods to cope with these. I will respect and privilege those that have cooperated fully, not that I have a lot of power, but I know how their minds operate in times of difficulty and they can be trusted to be there even in the civilian world. I will just ignore those that ignore or belittle what I have asked them to do. Because I, myself am in a position that I do not wish to be in, and I have to fulfill certain obligations, due in part to my rank and position.
If you have gotten the proper certifications or excuse chits for not attending certain activities, I wun pursue, but without anything, I will deem it as playing punk, and that will not even get an eye contact from me.
I want to have a relaxing time in camp too. We all want that, and the only way to lighten each others' burden is to share the load equally. We can all "row the boat" quickly to shore, so that we can all enjoy the fruits of labour (i.e. book-outs).
Some compliments for the soldiers helping out in the CQ and armskote. They are so easy to work with, really partners. All the platoons are okay so far except the attached drivers. Lemme tell you this, I have a military license too, I can drive the 5-tonner if I'm orientated. I do not need them cos waiting for them really delay finishing up the training program for the day.
Compared to flying, there is so much less cooperation that I see here. So to my flying friends, see fellow crew in more positive light okay? Cos everyone up there, no matter how fake and true, is so polite. Much better that way.
Another week of reservist to go.
Cheerios
Andrew
